Deleting a character - switching Race

Greetings. I have a level 30 main on Asmo side and I wanted to switch to Ely. I have therefore deleted my toon, and recieved a 7day waiting time.

Even though my character is not listed on the Server Selection screen (Charaters=empty), I'm not available to create an Elyos. Is there anything I can do about this? I don't want to miss the event by having to wait 7 days.
